WOWS Weavers on the Wild side.
We explore historical textile techniques from cultures all over the world..

When: The group meets monthly on the 3rd Sunday each month
Time: from 10:00am until 1:00pm
Contact: Ruth Mitchell
As a group we explore the textile techniques that existed prior to the introduction of multishaft looms.
Previously known as the Bandweaver's group, our basis is tablet, backstrap and Inkle weaving. We are also delving into more unusual techniques such as Sprang, fingerweaving, nalbinding, lucet, ply splitting, netting, weft twining and more. Our aim is to keep these techniques alive and pass the knowledge on.
The group is fun and informal and we encourage beginners and experienced weavers to come along and join us or just check out what we are up to.
